The purpose of the Catholic Motherhood Ministry is to encourage mothers of all ages in our vocation of Motherhood while strengthening our knowledge and love of our Catholic faith. We welcome all mothers to our group, regardless of age or number of children.
Under normal circumstances, we meet at the church to discuss various Catholic topics (Saints, prayers, devotions, etc.) while our children are cared for in the nursery, located next to the church.
Fellowship - Currently, the Catholic Motherhood ministry meets on the third Sunday of the month from 6-8pm for fellowship at a restaurant.
Prayer Chain - We share prayer requests for each other and our family and friends via our email group.
Meal Train - We support mothers after childbirth by announcing the birth to the members and offering a meal sign-up.
Donations - We are always looking for ways to share the blessings we have received by passing on household items to others in our community who need them. At times we organize a donation table at the church for drop-off/pick-up.
All mothers who are parishioners, visitors, or friends are welcome to join the Catholic Motherhood Ministry.

January 29, 2023 -
Good evening-
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. Please RSVP to Emily Dobbs ([email protected] or 815-670-9817) if you plan to attend Valentine's Brunch next Saturday, February 4th, from 10 -noon at Emily's house.
I am excited to announce we have some new resources and opportunities for 2023. Please contact a fellow leader or me if you have ideas, want to help lead, share information about Catholic events with the group, or have questions.
Prayer/Outreach: Nikki Pacitti will be launching this section with a Lenten book study. In connection to the Abiding Together podcast, we will be discussing Be Transformed: The Healing Power of the Sacraments by Bob Schuchts. The group will meet via Zoom on Tuesday nights from 8-9pm. Contact Nikki at (423) 718-2843 for further details and for a discount code for the book.
Communication: Allison Luze and Katie Bird are reviewing two APPs for the Mom's group. You will still receive emails a few times a month. This APP will help connect Mom's to share prayer requests, social meet-up opportunities, and share general group announcements. The APP we plan to use, and instructions will be emailed out in February.
Social: Saturday Brunches have been a welcome change to our monthly socials. If you want to host brunch at your house this year, please let me know which Saturdays work best for you. Please let me know if you miss the Sunday night meet-up or have other ideas. You are welcome to create and share a social event with the group. We will aim to have one social event a month.
Meal Trains: To help make signing up for meal trains easier. We will use the website "Take them a meal" for all Basilica Mom meal trains and include a few details in each meal train email and signup. Items to include in an email to Emily Dobbs ([email protected]) requesting a meal train:
