For the past 130 years, Sts. Peter and Paul has been a cornerstone in our Catholic community. Thousands of families have worshiped in our church, received the sacraments here and grown closer to Christ through our active church ministries. It is in that spirit that we now look to the future. The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul is considering several projects that will help preserve our beautiful church and allow our parish to grow and flourish well into the future.
Parish leaders are considering a capital campaign to make needed repairs to the Basilica and to our Religious Education building. Plans to create more meeting space in the parish through the renovation of the RE building and the construction of a “bridge” building between the church and the RE building are also being considered.
We have retained the services of the Steier Group, a Catholic development consulting firm, to conduct a comprehensive planning study. This study will allow us to gather everyone’s thoughts regarding our proposed plans. It will also determine whether there is sufficient support to move forward with a major fundraising effort to accomplish some, or all, of these goals.
As we make plans for a capital campaign, this study will help us determine a realistic fundraising goal and identify campaign leaders and potential major donors.
Please read the
fact sheet and
survey linked here. Once you have read about our proposed plan for the future, please share your thoughts by completing the survey no later than December 2, either in print form or online:
If you would like to print it and fill it out, surveys can be mailed or delivered to the parish office or placed in the collection basket during weekend Masses.
If you prefer to complete the survey online, go to www.steiergroup.com/survey/. Then, click on Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul and enter the password: Peter.
I am hopeful that you will agree to share your time and thoughts with us. Your participation is important to me as we plan for the preservation of our beautiful Basilica and the continued success of our parish.
Sincerely in Christ Jesus,
