The sung Ordinary of the Mass consists of the sung prayers of the assembly that do not change from week to week: namely,
Kyrie (Lord, have mercy),
Gloria (Glory to God),
Sanctus (Holy, holy), and
Agnus Dei (Lamb of God).
We have changed to a new sung Ordinary for the summer for our English Masses: The
Mass in honor of St. Isaac Jogues, which is found in the back of the St. Isaac Jogues Missal (beginning p. 815).
At our Extraordinary Form Masses, we are singing
Mass XI, Missa Orbis Factor, one of eighteen traditional Gregorian settings in the Catholic Church’s official song book, the Graduale Romanum.
You can listen to these on our
Joy of Tradition page. (Scroll down to Videos of the Sung Ordinary.)
