Please pray for 7-year-old Hannah Stradley, the youngest child of Michael and Danielle Stradley (formerly our parish DRE's). Hannah started exhibiting some concerning symptoms on their fall break trip. On their return (10/15/21), they took her to T C Thompson Children's hospital. It looks as if she has developed Type 1 diabetes. They spent the night in the hospital to get her blood sugars down and learn all about it. She responded well. It seems it was caught soon enough and she’s not having any of the more concerning problems. She is a trooper and is taking it all in stride.
Update 12/8/21 from Danielle Stradley: Hannah is doing amazing. We had an appointment today and her A-1 C is already down below seven from twelve in only two months, so they were so thrilled.
Update 10/18/21 from Danielle Stradley: We are home!! Hannah has got to be the most resilient little kid ever. As soon as she got home she wanted to go play with her friends. No laying around for that child. Thank you everyone for your prayers and encouragement they really meant the world to us.
Please pray for Hannah and her family as they navigate the steps ahead with diabetes.
Prayer to St. Pauline, Patron of Diabetics
O gracious St. Pauline of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus, I turn to you seeking your prayers on behalf of all those who suffer with diabetes, especially (name person).
Go before the Lord and ask that He grant them ability to manage their diabetes, and if it is His holy will, that He heal them of it completely.
You know well the progression of this disease.
Pray that those who have it pay close attention to their blood sugar levels, their diet and their exercise routines.
Intercede for them that they live long, full and healthful lives without the complications that can come from diabetes.
Thank you, St. Pauline, for your prayers and intercession. Amen.
