Summer Gatherings
DYM will be meeting for summer social gatherings around Chattanooga on the following dates:
June 2nd 6:30 - 8pm at Coolidge Park for games (meet at the fountains)
June 17th 6:30pm at Splitz Alley for Laser Tag and Bowling ($23/person - RSVP to Kalista Bartee)

VIRTUALLY: Sundays from 6:30-8PM
IN-PERSON: Wednesdays from 6-8PM in the Parish Hall
Please note: For us to be able to gather in person, all participants MUST abide by the COVID safety precautions laid out by the Diocese of Knoxville. For indoor events, this includes social distancing from those outside your household (sibling groups, for instance, may sit together.) Masks are optional. Our volunteer team will also be following guidelines for sanitizing/disinfecting the space.Contact our Youth Ministry Director, Kalista Bartee, for more information.
Diocesan Youth Leadership Camp for High Schoolers Sept. 17-19, 2021
The Diocesan Youth Leadership Camp for high schoolers will take place Sept. 17-19 at Ocoee Retreat Center. Cost: $110, additional $10 for transportation. Activities include low ropes, zip line, climbing wall, adventure mud race, bonfire, adortion, speakers, music, and sports. Click here for more information and to register. Deadline is Sept. 3. Registration is open for RE, Youth Group, and Jubilate Deo Youth Schola! Religious Education classes for preK through 12th grade will be offered Sundays at 10:15am beginning September 12. Class attendance is required for First Holy Communion and Confirmation and is strongly encouraged for all grades. Our Youth Group for grades 6-12 will meet Wednesdays from 6-8pm beginning August 25. The Jubilate Deo Youth Schola for grades 2-12 will begin in September. Please register on our Youth Registration page for this year, even if you registered last year.Read More -
Joseph Shramko, a teen in our parish and an NDHS student, suffered a serious fall on April 8. He has begun a lengthy healing process from several brain injuries and now undergoing intense rehabilitation at Shepherd Center in Atlanta. The Shramkos are praying for Joseph's full functional recovery, and they are asking for our prayers especially through the intercession of Fr. Patrick Ryan. The Basilica parish family asks your prayers for 14-year-old Lorelei Truett, daughter of Lance and Ashley Truett. Lorelei was diagnosed with leukemia on April 27, 2021. After receiving the sacramental Anointing of the Sick, she began chemotherapy treatment on April 28 at T. C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. After two month-long difficult treatments, she is very close to being in remission but needs further treatment and a bone marrow transplant. We are posting updates and needs here.
